YMCA Camp Abnaki provides your organization with a retreat location like no other:  surrounded by Lake Champlain, our 90 lush acres provides not only space to meet but space to grow and play.  We are conveniently located just 40 minutes from Burlington in scenic North Hero, Vermont. 

 

Our rustic, yet full service, conference facility offers a unique venue for your event.  In addition to large meeting spaces and breakout rooms, we offer you unmatched recreational opportunities which will make your event not just successful, but truly memorable.

 

Our experienced staff can customize a program built to best fit your organization’s needs.  Every year, we host school groups, athletic training camps, corporate staff development retreats, craft groups, and specialty camps.  Our flexibility allows your group to take advantage of our unique offerings, which include:

Conference Facility and Corporate RetreatsAdministration Building

 

We offer a variety of meeting spaces for your group.  Need a large indoor space with seating for    200 people?  Check out the Turrell Dining Hall.  Need breakout rooms for smaller groups?  Check out the Albright Conference Room, Wigwam, and Pike Room.  Need space to set up a large event tent?  Check out our soccer field.  No matter what your space needs, Camp Abnaki can accommodate you.

 

Our staff will work with you to create your ideal venue.  See this chart for available spaces and capacities. 

 

We are also pleased to offer other services for your meeting:  We have an LCD projector & screen   available, and offer complimentary Wi-Fi in our Administration Building.  The Turrell Dining Hall’s sound system ensures presenters are easily heard. We’re also happy to provide continuous hot beverage service (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) throughout your event.

School Groups

Camp Abnaki has worked with schools throughout Vermont for over a decade to provide a unique field trip experience.  Our staff will work with you to create a  truly memorable experience for your   students.  Start  your school year with a September visit, emphasizing community building and teamwork.  End your school   year with a visit in May or June, and give your students  a great send off for the summer. 

We offer single day or overnight group options, and will partner with you to ensure your objectives   are met. 

We will also work with you to provide an experience that is cost effective for your school.  Please contact the camp office to discuss school pricing options.

Meals at Camp

 

Camp Abnaki is offers a variety of options for meals for your group. 

 

Meals are served in our spacious Turrell Dining Hall.   We are happy to provide you with 

home-style meals at a low cost. 

 

Our Food Services Director has over 20 years experience at camp, and is renown for her 

fresh-baked desserts.  Our menu always includes a variety of options, as well as fresh  

fruits and salads. 

  

Just need a light snack?  Coffee and tea service is available or a low cost.

 

We also provide the option to rent our kitchen facility for a flat fee.  This allows you to

bring in your own food service provider, such as catering companies.

Overnight Lodging

 

Lodging is available in our 24 cabins.  Each cabin can sleep 8-12 people.  Our cabins are rustic, but each cabin has electricity.  The cabins are arranged in four villages, each with 6 cabins and a small fire pit.

 

Each village has a conveniently located wash house with toilets, sinks, and showers with plenty of hot water. Each of our villages provide a distinct experience:

 

Mehkoa Village is located near the heart of camp, with insulated cabins that

sleep up to 8 people in one large room.

 

Tamakwa Village is located near the Dining Hall, with non-insulated cabins that

sleep up to 8 people in one large room.

 

Madewehsoos Village is tucked in the woods near the basketball courts.  These

non-insulated cabins  feature a semi-private sleeping area separate from the main 

room of the cabin.  These cabins sleep up to 10 people.                                                                                                                                                                                       Chippewadchu Village is located on a hill at the edge of camp.  These non-insulated

cabins sleep up to 12 people, with two semi-private rooms.

Overnight guests should plan to provide their own toiletries and bedding.  If your guests are feeling more adventurous, we allow on-site tenting at a reduced cost.

We have limited availability from May 1 to June 10 for spring rentals, and August 21 to October 15 for fall rentals.  To check availability and begin planning your event, contact Jeremy Plane, Assistant Camp Director, at (802) 862-8993 ext. 131.
