YMCA CAMP ABNAKI
Boys Camp and Family Camp Programs
Camp Abnaki provides a traditional
boys resident summer camp
program, with an emphasis on character development, skill
building and fun. Boys are provided with an experience designed to
foster personal growth and independence. The friendships they make and
memories they take away last a lifetime. Camp also offers a
boys day camp program.
YMCA Camp Abnaki also has programs for families and teens. Our
Family Camp Programs provide unique opportunities for family
bonding, and our Counselor-in-Training program gives teens leadership
skills they can use throughout their lives.
Campers
form life-long bonds of friendship
Founded in 1901 by Byron "Dad" Clark, Camp Abnaki continues to provide a
quality camping experience for boys. Located on a magnificent point of land
at the southern tip of North Hero Island and surrounded by Lake Champlain,
Camp Abnaki provides breathtaking views of Vermont's Green Mountains and the
majestic Adirondacks of New York.
A tradition of commitment to the individual makes Abnaki what it is
today, a camp that cares about a boy's needs and feelings. Our motto of "Help the Other Fellow"
is still as true as it was in Dad Clark's days.
The Camp Abnaki Mission
“To provide young people with an opportunity for social, spiritual, mental
and physical growth through participation in a community located in a
natural setting and characterized by leadership that creates a climate of
cooperation a concern for the individual, and the opportunity for
interracial, intercultural, and interfaith experience.”
