Mini Camp
I & II |
| |
Our mini camps allow campers a transition into resident camping. Mini
Camp II was formally known as First Timer’s Camp.
Mini campers spend three days and 3 nights at camp in a specialized
program. Campers are able to sample all of the favorite camp activities
in a shorter period of time. Activities are developmentally age
appropriate and geared towards first time campers. Our goal is to
provide a fun nurturing experience and to instill a desire to return to
camp for years to come.
Our Mini Camp II provides campers an extended one week opportunity to
experience camp in a program aimed at easing the worries and fears first
time campers may have. Located in Mehkoa Village, campers will
participate in all areas of camp but have a schedule that allows them to
spend more time developing as a tight knit village.

Counselor-In-Training Program |
| |
For Young Men who have completed 10th grade
Our CIT program enables campers to become tomorrow’s leaders. The six
week program is designed to help campers in the transition to counselor
and to develop leadership skills which can be used in school or
workplace. The CIT experience provides in-depth training in skill
development, child development, group dynamics, and conflict resolution.
Each CIT lives in a cabin with 8 other CITs. The CITs are supervised and
mentored by the CIT Director. There are plenty of opportunities for CITs
to enjoy camp recreation, off-site trips, and special events.
All CITs must have an interview with the Camp Abnaki Director. CIT dates
for this year are June 22 through July 26, 2008 for Session 1 and July
13 through August 16, 2008 for Session 2. Sign up early there is
limited space!!
Minimum 4-week stay, see session dates for more info.
