Camp Abnaki's staff is its most valuable asset. We recruit
from colleges throughout the country - and around the world.

Counselors & village staff are chosen for their knowledge of camp life, maturity,
sense of values, & understanding of boys. Program specialists are recruited for
their expertise in their particular fields, as well as their leadership ability.
Each summer, international counselors from many countries join Abnaki's staff.
The intercultural sharing which occurs is a vital part of the camping experience.

Our intensive, week-long staff training program includes instruction in group
dynamics, skill development, First Aid, & CPR. In keeping with adopted policies
of the YMCA, all staff also receive training in how to prevent, identify, &
report incidents of child maltreatment. |
